- Lewis is team leader of the New Ventures group which plays a key role supporting technology transfer at Melbourne Ventures particularly through start-up company establishment and incubation. He has recently been instrumental in the successful capital raising for Otifex Therapeutics and continues to lead the phase II clinical development program for Hatchtech's novel pediculicide.
- He has more than fifteen years first hand local and international experience with drug and device development and proven experience in CMC, nonclinical, regulatory and clinical development. Previous roles have involved various therapeutic areas including oncology, inflammation and dermatology and include six years in European posts with international pharmaceutical companies.
- While working for Bristol Myers Squibb International, Lewis was instrumental in development and implementation of regulatory and marketing strategy for their oncology portfolio in the Central and Eastern European region.
- He holds a Bachelor of Science (with Honours) and PhD in Chemistry from Monash University, Australia, and has completed a Diploma in Management from Henley College, UK.

- Grant is CEO of Velacor Therapeutics which originated from research at Melbourne University. In addition Grant manages technology transfer projects for the University.
- Grant has more than 13 years regulatory and project management experience in the development of biotechnology and pharmaceutical products, with particular expertise in the preclinical and clinical development and registration of new products. He has successfully managed the development from laboratory to market of a range of pharmaceutical and medical products for CSL Limited and Norwood Abbey.
- Grant has a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree from Monash University , and a Master of Medical Science (drug development) from UNSW.

- Melbourne Ventures’ newest Project Manager, Grant McLachlan joined
the company in 2007.
- Grant has spent the last 10 years in a variety of roles in drug and
business development at IDT Australia, a contract service provider, specializing
in active pharmaceutical ingredient process development and scale-up,
formulation development, analytical method development and validation,
and phase I clinical trials. He has a degree in chemistry from the
Monash University and a PhD in coordination chemistry from Monash University. He
completed a two-year post doctoral position in the USA, studying the interaction
of metal complexes with DNA.
- Grant has more than 10 years of project management experience in the
development of biotechnology and pharmaceutical products, with particular
expertise in the preclinical and clinical development of new drug substances
and drug products. He has successfully managed the development from
laboratory to clinical trials of a range of pharmaceutical and medical
products.
- “Having spent most of my career to date working for a contract service
provider, I am looking forward to being on the other side of the fence.
I have managed the drug development programs for companies ranging from
virtual start-ups at the lead selection stage, to NDA filings for “Big
Pharma”. I believe that this has given me a relatively broad range of
experiences at all stages of drug development, as well as different business
methods and strategies for pharma companies.”
- Grant is COO of Fibrotech which originated from research at Melbourne
University. In addition Grant manages other technology transfer projects
for the University.
