Novel Class of Therapeutics

Calibre Pty Ltd is a drug development company based on designing candidate therapeutic molecules based on patented 'scaffolds' that mimic the action of a family of naturally occurring growth factors.

Its initial development program is aimed at mimics of brain-derived neutrotrophic factor for the treatment of major neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's, and other targets for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma and rheumatoid arthritis.

Calibre was awarded a Biotechnology Innovation Fund (BIF) grant in 2002.
