Melbourne Ventures Pty Ltd is dedicated to supporting the commercialisation of technologies developed from University research. As such our core business is assisting academics to progress their technologies through the typical steps of technology commercialisation.

We aim to be facilitators of the process, which can mean everything from providing advice on complex aspects of a deal, to rolling up our sleeves and driving the process forward directly. In all of our work we seek to maintain a strong collaborative relationship with the academic who developed the technology, to ensure that they are informed and involved in all steps of the process.

Our operation is supported directly by the University, and thus our services are provided without charge to academic staff. Where a technology opportunity progresses to become a start-up or licensing deal, the structure of the deal is developed in consultation with inventors to ensure the rewards are appropriately distributed.
